  • Talentlab Award 2011

If you happen to carry around a really original, absurd, dangerous or even impossible idea for a short movie, Filmlab Aarhus and FO Aarhus’ newly founded 25.000 DKK Talentlab Award can help you realize it.

The Filmlab Aarhus Film Festival, which takes place during this year’s Aarhus Festival, is looking for the right idea and therefore encourages film talents – at all levels – to join in. The best entry will be awarded the 25.000 DKK Talentlab Award, which will be used to put the idea into production. The winning film will premiere at the Filmlab Festival in front of audiences and industry professionals looking for bright talent.

To judge the different ideas Filmlab Aarhus has invited an international capacity in the form of Barbara Morgan, who as head and founder of the prestigious Austin Film Festival is an expert at spotting great film ideas.

In order to participate in the competition the following criteria have to be met:

    - The idea needs to relate to this year’s Aarhus Festival theme, ‘Beautiful Mistakes’.
    - The description of the idea must fill no more than one page written in English and preferably with sketches, photos and a short CV.
    - The film must last no longer than 10 minutes.

    WE HAVE A WINNER
The winner of the 2011 Talentlab Award is Trine Berg & Franz Bomberg’s story of the lonely 9 year old boy Lukas, who one day finds a new friend with unusually long arms. The film is intitled “Too long, too short” and will premiere at Filmlab Aarhus on August 30th at 7 pm.
