Jamie King
Jamie King: artist talk + free download of ‘Steal this film’
30 Aug., 7.30pm-8.30pm, Screen A
Moderator: Christian Monggaard
Piracy or the future of film media? Director and activist Jamie King has put action behind his words with his film ‘Steal This Film’ from 2006. The film takes radical wiev on an area, which, more than anything, defines current cultural debate, and gives the word to the Swedish Pirate Bay founders.
King’s film will not be shown at the festival, but can be downloaded free of charge at stealthisfilm.com. Instead Jamie King himself will join the festival, where you can meet him for a chat about films, which undoubtedly will elicit a debate about cultural ownership and digital network technology.
Jamie King is a former editor at Mute Magazine, lobbyist in FN, journalist at ITN News and consultant for Channel 4 Television.
